National Earthquake Conference

National Earthquake Conference, 2008

Why a National Conference?

Earthquakes can happen anywhere, in almost any state. Forty out of 50 states have moderate to very high earthquake hazards. Seventy-five million Americans are affected. Earthquakes don't happen every year, but when they do, the costs are enormous. Cost to the U.S. economy averages $4.4 billion per year. When the earthquake occurs, impacts on our customers, clients, and communities will be widespread. People at every level in business, government, and communities have a role to play in managing earthquake risk. [more]
